Getting Started with IDEALS

There are two paths for deposit of materials into IDEALS:

Your department (or research center or school or other unit) can establish a community, and you can deposit to that community. See below for more information on this path.
You can also directly deposit your research to the UIUC Research and Scholarship collection. Find out more in Deposit Now!

Getting Started as a School, Department, Research Center, or Other Scholarly or Research Unit

It is easy to set up space (or 'Community') in IDEALS for your scholarly or research unit.

Review the general submission guidelines, the Collection Policy, Community Policies, and FAQ to ensure that the type of material you would like to include in your community meets the IDEALS criteria. If you are unsure, please contact us.
Complete the IDEALS Community Request form (pdf).
Contact Sarah Shreeves, IDEALS Coordinator, via email at sshreeve@uiuc.edu or phone at 217-244-3877 or 217-333-4648 to set up a meeting to discuss setting up a community. We will go through the steps of setting up a community and will answer any questions about IDEALS at this meeting.
