Library Trends 10 (1) Summer 1961: Future of Library Service Part 1
Library Trends 10 (1) Summer 1961: Future of Library Service: Demographic Aspects and Implications. Edited by Frank L. Schick.
Where libraries are to proceed to render services which a dynamic society is most likely to require, expect, and demand is given with detailed emphasis in the following papers. It is hoped that they will serve as significant guideposts for challenging opportunities and their solutions.
The extended discussion needed to develop thoroughly the topic of demographic aspects of librarianship has necessitated using consecutive issues. Part I contained herein will be supplemented by Part I1 in the October 1961 number. These issues are to be used as the working papers for a conference to be held in Cleveland during April 1962. This conference on "The Future of Library Education: Demographic Aspects and Implications" is to be co-sponsored by the Library Services Branch of the U.S. Office of Education and The School of Library Science, Western Reserve University.
